In transit - Sunday July 25 - Posted Monday

The boys were awakened by Poppa’s singing “good morning to you” – Nick asked why he couldn’t just say “time to get up”.  A very good question!  They got dressed and ate breakfast in record speed and proceeded to doze on the sofa while we filled up hummer feeders and regular bird feeder.  Can’t let the little guys who depend on us fend for themselves in 98 degree weather :)
Our chauffeur driven limo, Ellen in Mike’s car, arrived promptly on time and, with little traffic, we arrived at the airport with plenty of time to get throught the TSA lines and find our way to our gate.  Uneventful trip from Charlotte to Minneapolis (with lots of snacks along the way).  Never having connected in MSP before, we made our way on a variety of moving sidewalks from G to C concourse with a bathroom break (planning to pick up lunch to take on our next flight).  Little did we know that it was a 20 minute walk.  We got to the gate to find that they were boarding with along line. Nick won the prize for reminding us that Art has priority status and we could go through that line (one person ahead of us).  Comfy new plane, settled in after checking email and FB.  The boys were hungry but had to settle for more granola bars and cookies since we’d missed the lunch-to-go stop.  They both fell asleep immediately after take off, so I had time to begin this blog.  We will get beverage service and an early dinner in Park City (where it is currently 82 degrees and sunny with evening temps predicted to be in the high 60s.)  I love the Rockies!!
We all crashed – reading, TV and to bed at a reasonable time  (although I must admit that I told the boys it was 2 AM at home when it was midnight and had to apologize for my east/west faux pas :)

  1. I change planes in Minneapolis next week (after a prior change in Detroit). I didn't expect to start hiking before I got to South Dakota!
